RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th May, 2021 ) :Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa Wednesday said Pakistan had sincerely supported the Afghan peace process as a prosperous, stable and peaceful Afghanistan was in the best interest of the region in general and Pakistan in particular.
The Army Chief was speaking to United States Charge d Affairs Angela Aggeler , who called on him here, an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release said.

Typhoon “Bising” (international name “Surigae”) weakened into a severe tropical storm as it moved further away from the Philippines, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Friday afternoon, April 23.
The severe tropical storm was last spotted 805 kilometers (km) east-northeast of Basco, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 110 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 135 kph.
It is moving northeast at 15 kph.

PAGASA said Bising will move generally northeast until Friday evening before turning east-southeast to east by Saturday, April 24, and eastward to east-northeastward by Sunday, April 25.

ISLAMABAD: United States Charge d’ Affaires in Pakistan Angela Aggeler called on Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood on Monday and discussed effects of Covid-19 pandemic on education sector.
Besides, both sides also discussed universities partnership programmes, role of technology in education, single national curriculum and collaboration on technical and skill areas, says a press release.
It said Mr Mahmood told Ms Aggeler that relationship of both countries in education sector was the best in the world and people of both countries are learning from each other.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba says he expects decisions and steps from the United States that will prevent the completion of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
Kuleba announced this during a panel discussion of the U.S.-headquartered Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA) on the future of U.S.-Ukraine relations.
The minister says that messages that come from President Joe Biden s administration regarding Nord Stream 2 are very reassuring. The messages we re hearing from the new Administration are very reassuring. They emphasize the continuity of the policy of non-acceptance of Nord Stream 2. I believe we need some more time to see whether the reassuring messages will be followed by equally reassuring decisions and steps to be taken, Kuleba said.
