DuBois Softball ends strong World Series run | Penn State University

Image: Penn State May 20, 2021 DuBOIS, Pa - Penn State DuBois softball had a great run in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) World Series, but it unfortunately came to an end Wednesday night.  The D Youville College St. Bernards scored first with three runs in the top of the first inning and went on to defeat DuBois 13-3. Pitcher Lizzy Scott and the Lady Lions held D Youville for a while, and in the meantime got their own bats going. Scoring two runs in the bottom of the second, and one in the bottom of the third, DuBois would tie the game and keep things rolling. The St. Bernards went on a run however in the top of the fifth, scoring seven runs to take the lead back.

Sikobe returns as Head Volleyball CoachApril 19, 2021 in News and Events [Marshall, TEXAS,] March 29, 2021 – The Wiley College Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is proud to announce the return of Nancy Sikobe as Head Volleyball Coach. From 2009-2014, Sikobe became the winningest coach in program history – guiding the Lady Wildcats to 121 wins and four appearances in the Red River Athletic Conference championship match. In all six seasons, Wiley College finished in the top three in the conference. Sikobe led the Lady Wildcats to four 20-plus win seasons, including 22 in 2012 – which is the program record. Six of her players earned National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics All-American recognition, with Jessica Lopez earning second team in 2010 and Magda Santos being selected to the second team in 2011. Under Sikobe’s guidance, Lopez was named the 2010 RRAC Front Row Player of the Year, and Diana Castaneda earned the 2013 RRAC Defensive Specialist of the Year.

Longtime SMWC athletic director announces retirement

Deanna Bradley With 30 years of service under her belt at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, athletic director Deanna Bradley announced she is retiring as of May 14. Bradley has played a pivotal role in the institution’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics during her tenure. She has served as athletic director since she joined The Woods in 1991, pioneering the program to what it is today including 14 varsity scholarship athletic teams. She also served as the head women’s basketball coach from 1992 to 2018. “I am eternally grateful the Lord chose to place me at SMWC for 30 years,” Bradley said. “SMWC will forever hold a special place in my heart. I was truly blessed to have so many people over the years assist in the development of the athletic department.”
