Belmont Rep says changes to immigration policy may be coming

Jane Avery/Correspondent Wicked Local The Biden administration has been pushing for updates to immigration policy, in order to reform previous policies from the past four years. Biden’s policies are up for debate but Massachusetts is looking ahead.  State Representative David Rogers, D-Cambridge, who represents Belmont, parts of Arlington and parts of Cambridge, compared the policies and sentiment on immigration of the past four years to the future. “Some of the proposals and ideas of the previous administration I would say were racist or certainly, at a minimum, showing bias,” Rogers said. “I’m encouraged that we’re hopefully going to have a more healthy, positive conversation about immigration.”
