Blake Pieroni s family, friends celebrate his second Olympic gold medal

Cathy Pieroni might not have been in Tokyo to watch her son Blake win his second Olympic gold medal on Sunday night, but she did her best to make sure her voice was heard halfway across the world. Cathy Pieroni watched Sunday nightâs 400-meter freestyle relay along with her daughter April and granddaughter at a hotel in Amelia Island, Florida. As Blakeâs teammate, Zach Apple, touched the wall, Cathy set off a wild celebration as the former Chesterton swim star won his second gold medal. The U.S. quartet won in 3 minutes, 8.97 seconds. Italy took the silver in 3:10.11 and Australia won the bronze in 3:10.22.

The college named Judy Willson, a 1988 Geneva graduate, to the position. She will direct recruitment efforts for Geneva s master s degree programs in business administration (MBA), counseling, cybersecurity and higher education. As a Geneva College graduate, I am excited to help advance the college that launched my career and promote the Christian education that I believe in, Wilson said in a press release. I understand Geneva s mission based on the Reformed faith in Christian education and believe that being a part of the admissions team leads to helping people find their way and discover God s calling into a particular field.

In doing so, Howard became the first Kentucky player to ever earn First-Team All-American honors from the four major organizations. For the second year in a row, the Associated Press tabbed Howard a first-team All-America – the first player ever to earn that honor from the AP. She followed by being named a Wooden Award All-American for the second straight year. Friday, she earned her second straight All-America honor from the United States Basketball Writers Association. This is the first All-America honor from the WBCA for Howard, who was tabbed All-America Honorable Mention by the WBCA in 2019 and 2020.
