A person with knowledge of the situation says U.S. Olympic guard Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards has entered the health and safety protocols related to the coronavirus, which raises the possibility that he might miss the Tokyo Games.

Team USA and Wizards guard Bradley Beal has entered the health and safety protocols in Las Vegas, placing his participation in the Tokyo Olympics in jeopardy, according to Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press.
There is nothing definitive about that at this point regarding Beal’s status, Reynolds adds.
It would obviously be a major blow for USA Basketball if the high-scoring All-Star is ruled out of the Olympics. The team has already struggled during exhibition play in Las Vegas, dropping two of its first three games. Beal scored a team-high 17 points in a 108-80 win over Argentina on Tuesday. He has started all three of the team’s games in Las Vegas.

All those girls are deserving so . you know, hopefully they go win a gold medal.
The 24-year-old former Notre Dame star is likely to be on the U.S. team for the 2024 Olympics. But Wednesday, she and Team WNBA did their best to prepare Team USA for what the Americans will face in the upcoming Tokyo Games as they seek the program s seventh consecutive gold medal.

USA Basketball senior men’s national team guard Bradley Beal has been placed in health and safety protocols, a person familiar with the development told USA TODAY Sports.
The person requested anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the sensitive nature of the situation.
USA Basketball released a statement Wednesday but did not name the player and no offered no additional details, simply saying, A member of the USA Basketball Men’s National Team has been placed under USA Basketball s health and safety protocols.
It is unknown if Beal has tested positive for COVID-19, or if the situation is related to contact tracing. COVID guidelines for athletes prior to arriving in Tokyo state:
