Fox News chief congressional correspondent Chad Pergram has the latest on the killing of Ofc. William Evans, on Special Report Officer William Billy  F. Evans, who died on Good Friday while defending the Capitol, will lie in honor at the Capitol Rotunda on April 13, congressional leaders announced Tuesday. Evans, an 18-year veteran of the United States Capitol Police force, was 41 years old. He was a father of two children and a native of North Adams, Mass. Evans was killed Friday when a vehicle driven by Noah Green, 25, crashed into a barricade protecting the Capitol and rammed into Evans and another officer. Green purportedly came out of the car with a knife and was shot to death by police.

Suspect Noah Green, 25, was shot and killed by police after striking the officers with his vehicle, ramming into a barricade, and running out of his car with a large knife, MPD wrote in a release. Authorities are investigating the incident as a homicide, for which a motive has not been released. The suspect’s knife was recovered on the scene, police wrote, releasing a photo of the weapon held by Green.

By Grace Segers Capitol Police force reeling after fatal car attack Washington U.S. Capitol Police Officer William Billy Evans, who was killed in the attack outside the Capitol last week, will lie in honor in the Capitol Rotunda on April 13, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced on Tuesday. Evans was killed when a man rammed a vehicle into officers at a barricade outside the Capitol building on Friday. In giving his life to protect our Capitol and our Country, Officer Evans became a martyr for our democracy. On behalf of the entire Congress, we are profoundly grateful, the Democratic leaders said in a statement. It is now the great and solemn privilege of the House of Representatives and the Senate to convey the appreciation and the sadness of the Congress and Country for the heroic sacrifice of Officer Evans with a lying-in-honor ceremony in the U.S. Capitol.
