The United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA) has combined resources with several of the leading people and organizations in the industry to co-sponsor the USHWA/Scott Alberg’s monthly handicapping contests on Facebook.
The next event is this Saturday (July 17), the Meadowlands Pace, and features the overall first-place prize winner netting $500 in cash. The second- and third-place finishers will also receive special prizes. The contest has no entry fee.
Many thanks to the Tony Alagna Stable for sponsoring this week’s cash prize.
To collect the cash, entrants must select the winner of the Meadowlands Pace. The contest commences when the judges supply the official race results, which will be posted on Alberg’s Facebook page on Thursday. Contestants need to choose the winner either by their name or post position number.

The United States Harness Writers Association Hall of Fame Screening Committee is proud to announce an outstanding slate of candidates for induction into the 2022 Harness Racing Hall of Fame. Trainers Ron Burke and George Teague, Jr., along with driver Yannick Gingras, have been placed on the Hall of Fame ballot for this summer’s election.
This trio was then given a unanimous thumbs-up by four Hall of Fame trustees, who are all members of the Hall of Fame, to finalize the process. As well, the committee elected Chris Boring to the Harness Racing Hall of Fame, through the Veterans designation process.
