NaFAA Compliance and enforcement team comprising the Liberia Coast Guard headed for sea
The compliance and enforcement team of the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority NaFAA, has arrested some illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishermen, mainly Ghanaians.
The NaFAA team headed by the Deputy Director-General for Technical Services Hon. William Y. Boeh including his staffers along with the Liberia Coast Guard, carried out the arrest along the coast of Grand Kru.
According to a NaFAA release, the arrest took place in a hidden fishing community known as Nifu, along the Dorbor River, Sass Town connecting the sea in Grand Kru county following a tip off by some local fishermen in Grandcess.

Youth Action International, Waves for Water embarked on Hand Pumps Repair Across Liberia

MONROVIA – The Youth Action International headed by Dr. Kimmie Weeks is partnering with the Waves for Water founder Jon Ross to repair damaged hand-pumps around Liberia with over 55 pumps being repaired so far.
The organization aim of repairing pumps across the country is to continue addressing the issue of safe drinking water for the people of Liberia.
The two NGOs have launched a program to ensure that all the spoiled pumps that were constructed by other NGOs be repaired in other to prevent the people from drinking from open wells and streams.
The following amendments to the Rules for P&I and Defence cover for ships and other floating structures (“Rules for Ships”) and the Rules for P&I and Defence cover for mobile offshore units (“Rules for MOUs”) for both Assuranceforeningen Gard – gjensidig – and Gard P.& I. (Bermuda) Ltd. (collectively the “Associations” and individually the “Association”) have been endorsed by the Boards of Directors of the Associations and will enter into force at noon GMT on 20 February 2021.
