Grand Night For Dunn | Standardbred Canada

With so many accolades having come his way over the last two years, driver Dexter Dunn can be forgiven for not being aware he had reached a big career milestone Friday night at The Meadowlands. The 31-year-old New Zealander, who dreamed as a youngster of playing for the All Blacks, a famous rugby club back in his homeland, was his usual aw shucks self after winning his 1,000th career North American race in the second with Roger Rabbit on a frigid night at The Big M. “I didn’t know I was close,” Dunn said. If that’s the case, he probably does not remember that his first win came in June of 2011 with Mcclelland in a high-end conditioned pace at The Big M. Dunn returned home after that season and was not seen back in the States again until 2017. He won 93 races in 2018 before rising to the top of the sport in 2019, winning 460 times for earnings of over $12 million.

Double Carryover For Picks At Yonkers | Standardbred Canada

A run of upsets during both the Pick 5 and Pick 6 sequences on Friday night at Yonkers Raceway wound up with nobody being able to hit either of them. As a result, there will be carryovers and guaranteed pools in both wagers when racing resumes at the oval on Monday night. The Pick 6, which starts in race three, will offer a $12,573.07 carryover and a $25,000 guaranteed pool, and the Pick 5, which gets underway in the fifth race, will have a $4,412.72 carryover and a $15,000 guaranteed pool. Both guarantees are being offered as part of the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program.

Yonkers Open To My Reube Star N; Pick 6 Carryover Climbs

Yonkers Raceway s $1 Pick 6 proved elusive once again on Thursday night, as having five out of six winners was the best result anyone playing the wager could manage. That means Friday night s sequence will have a $6,783.81 carryover and a $10,000 guaranteed pool. The guarantee is being offered as part of the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program. Yonkers Raceway s Pick 6 has a takeout rate of 20 percent, as do the track s nightly Pick 4 and Pick 5 wagers. Friday night s 10-race program at Yonkers starts at 7:15 p.m., with the Pick 6 kicking off in the third race. Thursday night’s featured race was the $30,000 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace, and it was won by a returning My Ruebe Star N (Jordan Stratton) in 1:57.
