Attorney General s Office Publishes New Civil Rights Pamphlet for the Public Published: 20 December 2020 20 December 2020 Phoenix, Arizona - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced today that the Arizona Attorney General s Office (AGO), in partnership with the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), has published a new civil rights pamphlet in English and Spanish available free to Arizonans. The pamphlet provides Arizonans with answers to frequently asked questions regarding their rights and how to file civil rights complaints related to discrimination in employment, housing, public accommodations, and voting. Initially, the pamphlets are being distributed statewide to 180 locations throughout Arizona, including the Arizona Bar Foundation, Community Legal Services, courts, law libraries, and non-profits.

Over $6 Million Awarded To Homeless Veterans In L.A. County For Rental Assistance The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded $6.4 million in rental assistance and housing vouchers to help veterans at risk of experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County, including those in Santa Clarita, officials said Thursday.  The supportive housing assistance is provided through the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) Program, which combines rental assistance from HUD with case management and clinical services provided by the VA, according to the department.  A component of the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program, the HUD-VASH vouchers being awarded enable homeless veterans to obtain affordable, decent housing in the private market, according to officials.

In September, the Hawaiian Homes Commission (HHC) extended the initial continuance of mortgage loan postponement and delegated authority to HHC Chair William J. Ailā, Jr. to extend postponement beyond the initial three months. The initial mortgage loan deferral was offered to borrowers beginning with the April 2020 payment as the Department anticipated the financial impacts on lessees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
