US, Facebook recognise Pakistani women entrepreneurs
USAID has provided training to 433 Pakistani women-owned micro, small, and medium enterprises under the initiative
The United States Mission to Pakistan, in partnership with Facebook, celebrated International Women’s Day by recognising the achievements of Pakistani women entrepreneurs who received #SheMeansBusiness training through the US Agency for International Development’s (USAID) small and medium enterprise activity, read a statement issued on Monday.
It stated that to date, USAID has provided training to 433 Pakistani women-owned micro, small, and medium enterprises under the initiative. The #SheMeansBusiness training initiative helps women-led businesses around the world and utilises social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, to boost their online presence and sales.
United States and Pakistan host private sector engagement forum in South Punjab
Islamabad, January 27, 2021 (PPI-OT): The United States Mission to Pakistan along with the Punjab Provincial Government opened a three-day private sector forum today to identify opportunities and challenges for commercial and social investments in the region. The forum was organized by the United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Punjab Enabling Environment Project (PEEP) through the USAID Lahore Office in collaboration with the South Punjab private sector.
The forum will be focused on four key sectors: agriculture, tourism, textiles, and energy. One of the main topics will be identifying the challenges for growth of the private sector in South Punjab, including market access constraints exacerbated by COVID-19 mobility limitations.
