United States Representative Emanuel Cleaver II (D-MO) is urging Missouri families to file their taxes before the upcoming May 17 deadline to ensure they receive advance monthly Child Tax Credit payments from the American Rescue Plan as soon as possible.
As part of the American Rescue Plan, families could get monthly payments of up to $300 per child per month beginning as soon as July. The best way to ensure eligible families receive their payments quickly is to file a 2020 tax return by the deadline so the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has the most up-to-date information to calculate and issue advance monthly payments.

The $28.6 billion program from the American Rescue Plan will make direct aid available to independent restaurants, bars, food trucks, caterers and other hard-hit businesses in the food and drink industry that have experienced economic duress due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Restaurant Revitalization Fund will provide restaurants and other eligible businesses with funding equal to their pandemic-related revenue loss up to $10 million per business. I believe congratulations may be in order for United States Representative Emanuel Cleaver, II (MO District 5). He has singularly demonstrated the ability to offend everyone possible while reciting what he deemed to be a politically correct prayer calling for unity.
On Jan. 3, 2021 Representative Cleaver, as guest chaplain, delivered the opening prayer for the 117th United States Congress. The last lines of his deliberately thought out speech were .WE ASK IT IN THE NAME OF THE MONOTHEISTIC GOD AND THE GOD KNOWN BY MANY NAMES AND FAITHS. AMEN AND AWOMAN.
