High School All-American Game top performers

DENVER The second High School All-American Game, run by Major League Baseball and USA Baseball, was won by the American League, 8-3, but there were impressive performances from both teams from the top high school players from 2022 Draft class.
That’s what exhibitions like this are about anyway, right? Many of these players will be mainstays on the showcase circuit this summer and some will end up playing for the U.S. 18U National Team in international competition this fall. While one game doesn’t dictate next year’s Draft stock, how these players follow up their performances over the rest of the summer will help teams formulate their follow lists for 2022.
O’Sullivan’s time as the pitching coach
As the pitching coach, O’Sullivan joins an impressive staff that includes Jerry Weinstein, a longtime coach in the Colorado Rockies organization, and former MLB shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, who is currently a member of the Texas Longhorns staff. With the current staff as well as impressive roster, O’Sullivan’s time on the staff has been enjoyable:
Gators on the team
Joining O’Sullivan from Florida are freshmen pitchers Hunter Barco and Brandon Sproat. In a July 7 game, Barco and Sproat impressed many with their combined 12 strikeouts and only allowed three hits. In the start, Sproat struck out four batters. After entering the game as the reliever, Barco struck out eight batters in the win.

The destination is the Majors for Marlins prospects Max Meyer and Jake Eder, and they will get a taste on Sunday afternoon at the 2021 SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game in Denver. The 22nd installment will pit National League and American League Minor Leaguers in a seven-inning showcase of baseball s future stars.
Meyer (MLB Pipeline s No. 20 overall prospect) and Eder (Miami s No. 22 prospect) have been on the fast track since the Marlins selected them in the first and fourth rounds of last year s MLB Draft, respectively. Without a Minor League season, it was an atypical start to their professional careers. After signing, Meyer spent time at the alternate training site. Both participated in the fall instructional league. Neither let it get in the way of their development.
