Over the course of the last several months, deputies with the Sheriff’s Office have made several arrests involving possession cases of methamphetamine. Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office were able to identify an alleged distributor of the narcotic, identified as Jacob Miller. Over a period of several months, the Sheriff’s Office was able to identify that the suspect was believed to be dealing large amounts of methamphetamine. Investigators were able to identify that the suspect was receiving his narcotics through a supplier out of California and was using the mail to ship the narcotics to Nacogdoches County.

Multiple defendants sentenced in a major compounding pharmacy fraud conspiracy

TUSCALOOSA, AL   This week, Chief U.S. District Judge L. Scott Coogler sentenced two dozen defendants who were part of a major conspiracy to commit health care fraud, announced U.S. Attorney Prim F. Escalona, Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation Special Agent in Charge James E. Dorsey, Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge Johnnie Sharp, Jr., U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, Special Agent in Charge Derrick L. Jackson, Defense Criminal Investigative Service Special Agent in Charge Cynthia Bruce, and United States Postal Inspector in Charge, Houston Division, Adrian Gonzalez. The defendants sentenced included an array of company executives and managers, a prescriber, billers, and sales representatives. Among those sentenced this week were:

Police investigating attack on postal employee     FLINT, Michigan (WNEM) The Flint Police Department is investigating an assault involving a postal worker. The incident was caught on video and circulated on social media. It happened on April 8 when the postal employee was delivering mail in River Village Apartments, Flint Police said. “We are communicating with the United States Postal Inspector and will be working with the inspector throughout the investigation,” police said. Police said they will present arrest warrants on two suspects to the Genesee County Prosecutor’s Office on April 9. The postal employee is in good condition. The incident remains under investigation.
