ANSONIA, Conn. Ansonia police have made a second arrest in a decade-old murder and expect to make a third arrest as well.
Police said with the help of the United States Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force and Waterbury Police Department, they took Luis Marquez into custody in Waterbury for the March 16, 2011 homicide of Isaia Hernandez at the Xtra Mart on Wakelee Avenue in Ansonia. In March, Elijah Stanford was arrested for his involvement in the homicide.
Police said they have a third arrest warrant in this homicide investigation, the suspect is currently in jail and will be arrested at a later date.
Milford Police Department seized cash and illegal drugs after an investigation
On Mar. 11, 2021 officers from the Milford Police Department’s Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a property in the 400 block of North Street to complete a two month drug investigation. The MPD Drug Unit was assisted by MPD’s K9, Patrol, and Criminal Divisions, as well as officers from the Dover Police Department, Delaware State Police, United States Marshall Fugitive Task Force, and Delaware Probation and Parole.
As a result of the investigation 25 individuals were previously charged over the last two months and 13 were charged on 03.11.2021. Throughout the investigation two handguns were seized, 1919 baggies of heroin, 81 grams of marijuana, 360 grams of cocaine, 3 vehicles, $17,670.00 United States Currency, and 132 oxycodone pills.
