Our state’s massive substance abuse problem may have been flying under the radar for the past several months, but law enforcement officials have been quietly continuing the fight. Quietly, that is, until Wednesday, when agencies in Jackson County conducted Operation Centennial, the largest drug investigation warrant sweep in the state’s history.
The effort was led by the Jackson County Bureau of Investigations, but the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, Ravenswood Police Department, United States Marshal, Drug Enforcement Administration, West Virginia State Police and West Virginia Department of Natural Resources were involved as well.. By midday, the sweep had resulted in 113 warrants for cases involving methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, fentanyl, prescription narcotics, and marijuana.
QAnon Shaman Jake Angeli Has Not Been Granted Organic Diet By Judge, Court Says

An Arizona court and the U.S. Marshal s Service have had to clarify widely reported claims that a Capitol riot suspect known as the QAnon Shaman was granted an organic diet following reports he had not eaten whilst in custody.
During his first court appearance on Monday, the defense attorney for Jake Angeli, 33, of Arizona, revealed that his client had not eaten since he was arrested the previous Saturday because of his strict diet.
It was first reported that public defender Gerald Williams told the judge that Angeli, real name Jacob Anthony Chansley, has a restrictive diet consisting solely of organic food, believed to be for religious or medical reasons.

Sioux City, Iowa A Storm Lake man, who authorities say trafficked and intended to distribute large quantities of methamphetamine, pled guilty Tuesday in federal court in Sioux City.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Iowa, 31-year-old Christian Javier Ramirez, of Storm Lake, admitted that from early January of 2020 to on or about January 30, 2020, he intentionally conspired with others to distribute methamphetamine.
Authorities say approximately 7 pounds of methamphetamine was intercepted in Colorado by the Colorado State Patrol and was destined for Storm Lake, Iowa, at the direction of Ramirez.
Ramirez will be sentenced in federal court in Sioux City after a presentence report is prepared. He remains in custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing.
Dayne Adrian Sitladeen, the man arrested by the Minnesota State Patrol after a traffic stop Sunday, was in custody Tuesday morning at a federal detention facility.
âMy understanding is that Mr. Sitladeen is being held in a federal jail and that he did make an appearance at federal court yesterday,â Toronto Police Service Sgt. Rob North said Tuesday.Â
Assisted by an Otter Tail County deputy, the trooper arrested Sitladeen Interstate 94 on a felony warrant issued by the United States Marshalâs Office.Â
According to North, Sitladeen has been wanted for first-degree murder in Toronto since May 14, 2019.
The Toronto police are alleging that Sitladeen and three other individuals were involved in the shooting death of Blain Gerrado Grindley in the Rexdale suburb of Toronto. Portland Police have arrested a suspect who escaped from a holding cell at the Justice Center.
Early Friday morning, the United States Marshal s Fugitive Task Force located attempted murder suspect and escapee David Dahlen inside a vehicle at Lents Park.
They notified the Portland Police Bureau and members of the Homicide Unit, Tactical Operations Division, K9 Unit, and East Precinct patrol responded to assist.
At about 8:50 a.m., the U.S. Marshals attempted to block the vehicle Dahlen was in, however, the driver of the vehicle was able to escape the Marshals efforts.
The vehicle fled from the area, heading eastbound on Southeast Holgate Boulevard. Officers assigned to East Precinct set up spike strips near the 11000 block of Southeast Holgate Boulevard, which the vehicle occupied by Dahlen ran over.
