The United States Marshals Museum in Fort Smith is one step closer to becoming a reality after receiving a $5 million anonymous donation.  The museum has a $12.5 million campaign goal and says they plan to use $8 million of the total funds to build out its galleries and create a transformative storytelling experience for guests.  “This pledge is the impetus we need to reach our capital campaign goal,” said Doug Babb, board chair of the United States Marshals Museum. “With this generous gift, we will soon move forward with plans to create an educational and immersive experience for our guests.”

Lee s Burnette To Compete At US Amateur After Firing A 10-under In Qualifying Tourney Thursday, July 22, 2021 - photo by Lee University Athletics Lee University sophomore Beck Burnette will be headed to the prestigious United States Golf Association Amateur Championship on Aug. 9-15 at the Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa. Burnette punched his ticket thanks to a fifth place finish in the U.S. Amateur Qualifier on Wednesday with a 10-under par 134 total. The event took place at the Stonebridge Golf Club in Rome, Ga. Burnette is the third Lee University golfer to punch his ticket to the US Amateur, joining Matt Emery (2014) and Brian Clark (2018).
