LAFAYETTE, La. -Acting United States Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook announced that three men from South Louisiana were sentenced for illegally possessing firearms by United States District Judge James D. Cain, Jr.Jaquan Smith, 27, of Houma, Louisiana, was sentenced to 24 months in prison, followed by 3years of supervised release, for illegal possession of an unregistered firearm. On October 10, 2018, law enforcement officers in Jennings, Louisiana stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation in which Smith was a passenger. Images later recovered during a search depicted his abuse of the victim. The victim s mother faces multiple child sexual abuse charges in Oregon state court, a spokesperson for the DOJ says. Seibert traveled to Utah in December 2018 and again in May 2019 to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a 14-year-old victim that he had met on the internet, he admitted in a plea agreement, according to the DOJ s office.
Court documents show one victim says Seibert asked her to send sexually explicit material, knowing she was a minor. She did so, and law enforcement later found in Seibert s possession about 160 images and eight videos of child exploitation material of the victim.

LOS ANGELES Michael Avenatti, the disgraced former lawyer for AVN Hall of Famer Stormy Daniels, faces a trial on fraud charges set to start on February 23. But now, Avenatti wants to delay that trial because he says he needs to focus instead on his trial for allegedly swindling Daniels out of nearly $300,000.
Avenatti has already faced trial and been convicted on charges that he attempted to extort the Nike shoe corporation out of $20 million.
