Joe Biden’s inauguration rehearsal has been postponed due to security concerns. The rehearsal scheduled for Sunday has been moved to Monday, according to Politico. A ride on Amtrak from Wilmington to Washington planned for Monday with Biden and his staff has been canceled.
There have been no comments from the presidential inaugural committee, the Secret Service, or the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies. After the violence on Capitol Hill last week, security concerns are being taken seriously. There are ongoing investigations by the FBI and other agencies looking into those who participated in the riot as the building was stormed by protesters. TUCSON, Ariz. (KOLD News 13) - Barricades are going up across the country as concern of violence grows ahead of the Inauguration.
In Arizona, fencing was put up around the state capitol Friday.
“There is a good deal of online chatter,” said Acting Deputy Secretary of the Dept. of Homeland Security, Ken Cuccinelli. “This isn’t just about Washington, by the way. There’s also conversations about state capitols, though very unspecified.”
Law enforcement and state officials are on high alert for potentially violent protests this weekend in the lead-up to Inauguration Day, with some state capitols boarded up and others temporarily closed ahead of Wednesday's ceremony.
Vice President Mike Pence was closer than initially known to the violent mob at the US Capitol, according to new reporting from the Washington Post. New video from that day shows an alternate angle of rioters chasing Capitol Police officer Eugene Goodman as he led them away from the Senate chambers. CNN's Evan Perez reports.

(Updated on 1/17/21) A number of bridges connecting Arlington to D.C. across the Potomac River are closing due to presidential inauguration security measures.
Virginia State Police is working with the United States Secret Service to close Roosevelt Bridge, the Arlington Memorial Bridge, the I-395 Bridge and the 14th Street Bridge starting Tuesday morning through Thursday at 6 a.m., according to a joint statement from Virginia lawmakers.
The Arlington Memorial Bridge closed Friday night but then reopened, according to news reports. The HOV span of the 14th Street Bridge was set to close Saturday morning until Thursday, according to the Secret Service, but was open as of noon on Saturday.
