WASHINGTON (ABC) President Donald Trump releases his farewell address during his final full day in office.
In his address, Trump says, as the new Administration takes over, he prays “for its success in keeping America prosperous.”
He lists the accomplishments of his own administration, from restoring “American Strength at home” to not starting any new wars, a first for a president in decades.
However, to his supporters, Trump warns “the movement we started is only just beginning.”
According to his schedule, Vice President Mike Pence did not attend the address.

WASHINGTON - On the eve of President-elect Joe Biden s inauguration, outgoing President Donald Trump released a farewell video address, posted on a White House twitter account. In the taped remarks, Trump says he will pray for the success of the next administration in keeping America safe and prosperous. We extend our best wishes and we also want them to have luck, a very important word, Trump said.
President Trump discusses his administration’s accomplishments in the farewell video as he spends his final full day in office preparing to issue a flurry of pardons in a near-deserted White House, surrounded by an extraordinary security presence outside.

Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president on Wednesday in a closely guarded ceremony at the U.S. Capitol, cloaked by security and beamed out online.
Biden s inauguration was always going to be sparsely attended. Concerns over the spread of the coronavirus drove early planning to tailor the events for home viewing, gatherings that under usual circumstances would draw big crowds. Biden s inaugural committee planned chinwags, concerts, and meet-and-greets, all digital, designed to part corporate sponsors and prominent VIPs with cash.
Planning for the events took another turn as lawmakers met to certify Biden s win on Jan. 6, when pro-Trump rioters stormed the U.S. Capitol in protest.

Former chief of protocol of the United States Capricia Marshall says the show of force on the National Mall ahead of Biden s inauguration is “quite extensive”, the likes of which has not been seen before.
About 20,000 troops are set to bolster the perimeter of the Capitol and to protect the new president and vice president at Joe Biden s inauguration ceremony on Thursday (local time).
“The ceremony has traditionally always been overseen by the United States Secret Service. It is their duty to, once the president-elect takes on that position, they begin their service to Joe Biden and to Kamala Harris,” Ms Marshall said.
