In the taped remarks, Trump says he will pray for the success of the next administration in keeping America safe and prosperous. We extend our best wishes and we also want them to have luck, a very important word, Trump said.
President Trump discusses his administration’s accomplishments in the farewell video as he spends his final full day in office preparing to issue a flurry of pardons in a near-deserted White House, surrounded by an extraordinary security presence outside.

Former chief of protocol of the United States Capricia Marshall says the show of force on the National Mall ahead of Biden s inauguration is “quite extensive”, the likes of which has not been seen before.
About 20,000 troops are set to bolster the perimeter of the Capitol and to protect the new president and vice president at Joe Biden s inauguration ceremony on Thursday (local time).
“The ceremony has traditionally always been overseen by the United States Secret Service. It is their duty to, once the president-elect takes on that position, they begin their service to Joe Biden and to Kamala Harris,” Ms Marshall said.
