Men from Brainerd and Staples are among four defendants federally indicted with conspiracy to commit arson for their alleged roles in burning the Minneapolis Police Department’s Third Precinct building during the May 28 riots following the murder of George Floyd.

MINNEAPOLIS A 23-year-old Brainerd man pleaded guilty Tuesday, Dec. 15, to conspiracy to commit arson in connection with his role in burning down the Minneapolis Police Department’s Third Precinct building during the May 28 riots following the death of George Floyd.

Brainerd Man Pleads Guilty to Minneapolis Police Third Precinct Arson
United States Attorney Erica H. MacDonald today announced the guilty plea of DYLAN SHAKESPEARE ROBINSON, 23, to one count of conspiracy to commit arson at the Minneapolis Police Department s Third Precinct. ROBINSON entered his guilty plea today before Judge Patrick J. Schiltz in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis, Minnesota. A sentencing date will be scheduled at a later time.
According to the ROBINSON s guilty plea and documents filed with the court, on the night of May 28, 2020, ROBINSON went to the Third Precinct where a crowd of hundreds had gathered. At one point, the crowd began shouting, Burn it down, burn it down. Soon after, a fence that was designed to keep trespassers out of the Third Precinct building was torn down. United States Attorney Erica H. MacDonald today announced the sentencing of FORNANDOUS CORTEZ HENDERSON, 33, to 78 months in prison for aiding and abetting arson. HENDERSON who plead guilty on August 26, 2020, was sentenced today by Judge Susan Richard Nelson, in U.S. District Court, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
