A Johnston man has been arrested for allegedly building and placing the explosive device that was found in an Ankeny neighborhood earlier this month.
Police have arrested 46-year old Chad Allen Williams on several charges related to the explosive found in the 1400 block of SE Waywin Drive on June 9th.
The device was found by a 9-year girl, who went and told her mom, who then called police. Law enforcement successfully disabled the device.
The Ankeny Police Department, State of Iowa Fire Marshall’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are investigating the case.
