Gina Carano And Costar Both Made Nazi Analogies. Hers Was Better, And She Got Fired
February 11, 2021
Disney-owned Lucasfilm fired “The Mandalorian” star Gina Carano this week after the vocally conservative actress made a holocaust comparison in the wrong direction, according to the executives of the Star Wars franchise.
“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children,” Carano wrote on Instagram. “Most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views.”

Years ago, Maria Stepanova visited the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC to do research for a book she would end up working on for 30 years. After telling him of her plan, the museum adviser replied: âAh. One of those books where the author travels around the world in search of his or her roots â there are plenty of those now.â âYes,â replied Stepanova. âAnd now there will be one more.â
Mary Miller (Facebook)
On January 5, the day before the Capitol riot, Rep. Mary Miller (R-Ill.) quoted Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, saying, “Hitler was right about one thing: ‘Whoever has the youth has the future. ” Many Democrats and Republicans condemned her statement and some called for her resignation, but the Coalition for Jewish Values (CJV), which represents more than 1,500 Orthodox Jewish rabbis in American public policy, defended Miller. Miller apologized for her comment and then met with CJV last week.
“I am thankful to have had the opportunity to meet and speak with the Rabbinic Board of the Coalition for Jewish Values and other rabbinic leaders,” Miller said in a statement after the meeting. “While I do regret the words I used to illustrate my message about instilling values in our children, I believe God is using this experience for good.”
