Mark Goldfeder, Hillels of Georgia’s legal counsel, was appointed to serve on the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Council.
According to the Hillels of Georgia announcement, “Mark’s appointment to the Council is a testament to his professionalism, dedication to protecting the rights of Jewish students, his efforts combatting antisemitism and securing Israel’s right to exist, as well as his commitment to eradicating all forms of bigotry, prejudice, and hatred.”

Jonathan Skolnik
AMHERST, Mass. – Jonathan Skolnik, associate professor of German, at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, has been awarded a research fellowship at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM). In Spring 2021, Skolnik will be in residence as the William J. Lowenberg Memorial Fellow at the USHMM’s Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies.
The Lowenberg fellowship supports research on America, the Holocaust, and the Jews. Skolnik will conduct research for a book on juxtapositions of anti-fascism, anti-racism, and Holocaust memory in American visual culture. His work will examine the ways that cinema has structured the memory of the Holocaust in the U.S. and beyond, pairing representations of Nazi persecution with critical reflections on racism in American society.

Committed to repatriating Rohingyas as per 2017 deal: Myanmar

Myanmar has said they are committed to beginning the repatriation of Rohingyas as per the bilateral agreement signed with Bangladesh in 2017.
Myanmar s International Cooperation Affairs Minister Kyaw Tin conveyed this message to Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen in a recent letter.
The Myanmar minister also said they are committed to ensuring peaceful relations with all neighbours, including Bangladesh and resolving any problems peacefully.
Kyaw Tin said they want to resolve any bilateral issues with neighbours through mutual partnership.
He hoped to begin the repatriation of Rohingyas to Myanmar soon through the tripartite talks held with Bangladesh, Myanmar and China on January 19.
