Sussex Freemasons send emergency aid to Indian families hit by the pandemic
Families and children experiencing severe poverty in India during the COVID-19 pandemic will be receiving vital emergency support thanks to a grant of £50,000 from Sussex Freemasons to Plan International UK. The £50,000 grant is enough to provide an expected 1,700 emergency food parcels for some of the most vulnerable families whose livelihoods have been affected during the pandemic.

Health services across India have been overwhelmed by the latest wave of coronavirus, and Freemasonry, through the United Grand Lodge of England and Masonic Charitable Foundation, is responding with Plan International to support them by providing essential items, and training.

NORTHUMBERLAND Freemasons have pledged their support to the NHS by sponsoring a special variety show thanking NHS, social care and frontline workers. Masons throughout England and Wales are leading the world’s ‘first’ celebration of NHS, Social Care and Frontline Workers Day on July 5 and here in the North-East, Northumberland Freemasons are getting behind a variety show at the Tyne Theatre and Opera House which will close the day’s celebrations. The unique and special day is dedicated to the NHS, social care and those that work on the frontline - workers who have saved many lives during the pandemic.
Freemasons to mark NHS, Social Care and Frontline Workers’ Day with silence, clapping and flag funding
As well as planning silence at 11am and clapping at 8pm, Freemasons will be donating £5 every flag and length of bunting at lodges
Freemasons across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight will be marking the inaugural NHS, Social Care and Frontline Workers’ Day on 5th July.
The fraternity is one of the core supporters of the event alongside English Heritage, Women’s Institute and the Cadet Forces.
Freemasons lodge buildings as well as individual members will be flying flags, banners and bunting at 10am to mark the day and show their thanks to those who have saved lives, and to remember those who have died from Covid-19.
