Share a Coke tour comes to Lincoln
Share with friends: A popular Coca Cola campaign will be making its way to Lincoln this weekend.
Lincoln residents searching shopping aisles to find their name on a Coke bottle rejoice, as the Share a Coke Tour is heading to the city centre.
The Share a Coke Campaign sees cans and bottles of Coca Cola emblazoned with 250 of the most popular names in Great Britain.
Many people though cannot locate their name, so the Share a Coke Tour will provide drinkers with the chance to get their name, or a friend’s, on a free 250ml bottle of Coke or Coke Zero.
637 COVID-19 cases and 13 deaths in Greater Lincolnshire over Boxing Day weekend

There have been 637 new coronavirus cases and 13 COVID-related deaths reported in Greater Lincolnshire over the Boxing Day weekend.
The government’s COVID-19 dashboard recorded 531 new cases in Lincolnshire across Saturday and Sunday, 77 in North Lincolnshire and 29 in North East Lincolnshire.
By Sunday, nine deaths were registered in Lincolnshire, one in North Lincolnshire and three in North East Lincolnshire. These figures include deaths both in and out of hospitals, as well as residents in hospitals outside the county.
The latest figures saw Lincolnshire pass the 24,000 cases mark, while North East Lincolnshire passed 200 deaths.

There have been 425 new coronavirus cases and five COVID-related deaths reported in Greater Lincolnshire on Bank Holiday Monday.
The government’s COVID-19 dashboard recorded 353 new cases in Lincolnshire, 52 in North Lincolnshire and 20 in North East Lincolnshire.
Nationally, cases rose by 41,385 the highest since the pandemic began to 2,329,730, while deaths rose by 357 to 71,109.
An additional four deaths were registered in Lincolnshire and one in North Lincolnshire. These figures include deaths both in and out of hospitals, as well as residents in hospitals outside the county.
Burger King shuts a Lincoln branch over COVID impact
Lockdown trade was dire
Burger King’s branch at the St Marks Shopping Centre in Lincoln has permanently closed.
The fast food restaurant only reopened the branch on July 29 this year after a forced temporary closure due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, it closed permanently on November 29 as a result of falling trade on the retail park and the effect of COVID-19, according to its most recent Restaurant Manager Liam Sheridan.

Lincoln hospital extension plans approved
“A new standard of mental health care”

City of Lincoln Council have approved plans to extend the Peter Hodgkinson Centre at Lincoln County Hospital into two new 20 ensuite wards, as part of a £37 million fund.
The plans are part of an NHS initiative to eradicate dormitory accommodation in mental health settings and has been described by Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust (LPFT) as “a new standard of mental health care”.
It hopes to remove clinical risk, improve privacy and dignity, promote wellbeing and recovery, as well as preventing COVID-19 infection risks.
