Greater Lincolnshire lockdown: 546 COVID-19 cases, 20 deaths on Wednesday 324 patients in hospitals with coronavirus There have been 546 new coronavirus cases and 20 COVID-related deaths in Greater Lincolnshire on Wednesday. The government’s COVID-19 dashboard recorded 426 new cases in Lincolnshire, 69 in North Lincolnshire and 51 in North East Lincolnshire. Local cases have hit 40,000 mark since the pandemic started. On Wednesday, 13 deaths were registered in Lincolnshire, six in North Lincolnshire and one in North East Lincolnshire. These figures include deaths both in and out of hospitals, as well as residents in hospitals outside the county. NHS England reported nine new local hospital deaths on Wednesday, including seven at United Lincolnshire Hospital Trust and two at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG).

Nathan Howitt, 43, was found on the St Giles estate in Lincoln by PCs Senescall and Bateman from the force’s ARC Lincolnshire team. He has now been recalled to prison due to breach of release conditions. ARC Lincolnshire, which was launched in the county in 2016 as the county’s approach to Integrated Offender Management, said its client was “completely disengaged from services” and saying how “he needs help and things will be different upon his release”.

Police name Boston murder victim A police cordon was put in place. Lincolnshire Police have named 41-year-old Polish national Marcin Stolarek as the victim in an ongoing murder investigation in Boston. The probe relates to the discovery of a body at the pumping station on Chain Bridge Road on the evening of January 12. Officials at the Lincolnshire force have said significant resources have been dedicated to the investigation. It is believed the victim died as a result of a sustained assault and his body was then disposed of in the waterway. They are now appealing for anyone who has seen Marcin in the last four months, or who has information that could help the investigation, to come forward.

It happened at around 9.15pm on New Year’s Eve on the Boardsides when the cyclist and a silver Ford Tourneo collided. The victim was cycling in the direction of the A17. He did not survive his injuries. Lincolnshire Police have not formally named the victim. In a previous appeal, they said he was believed to be Romanian, living in the Boston area.

Man in hospital after New Year’s Day stabbing No arrests have been made yet A 34-year-old man has been rushed to hospital after a stabbing at a house in Gainsborough. The incident happened at around 1.30pm on January 1 at a property on Northolme View in the town. The 34-year-old victim has been taken to Hull hospital for treatment of serious injuries, that have been assessed as non-life threatening. It is thought that the victim was airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary, though police cannot confirm this to be true. No arrests have been made as yet by police, but an investigation is underway.
