New ad boards proposed for Pelham Bridge in Lincoln
Agency says it wouldn’t block cathedral views
A media company wants to build a digital advertising board overlooking Pelham Bridge.
Alight Media has applied to the City of Lincoln Council to put the 8m high boards in the Pelham Centre Car Park.
Each unit would be 6m wide by 3m high and the applicants said the images would change every 10 seconds.
They said the proposed advertisement would “never” be in front of the cathedral as drivers crossed the bridge, instead being sat to the right of any view of the historic building.
Person hit by train between Lincoln and Sleaford
Disruption until 6pm
Rail services between Lincoln Central and Sleaford are disrupted after a person was hit by a train.
It happened at around 4pm on Friday, January 8.
Trains are currently unable to run between Lincoln Central and Peterborough via Sleaford.
Some trains may be diverted, and not call at Metheringham, Ruskington, Sleaford or Spalding.
Disruption on East Midlands Railway services is expected until 6pm.

Work starts to turn Lincoln High Street store into arcade bar

A planning application has been approved for alterations to the former Ruddocks store in Lincoln to become Carousel bar and Quickdraw virtual shooting range, with work already starting on the site.
City of Lincoln Council have approved internal and external alterations to the building, including a new cocktail bar, beer garden and cellar, kitchen, toilets and flagstone tiled flooring.
Carousel was supposed to open in September 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic so in October, a pop-up simulation shooting range opened at Home nightclub in Lincoln, with technology used by USA police and replicas of real guns.
More COVID vaccination centres coming to Lincolnshire
Council leaders confirm five more locations

Five more vaccination centres are coming to Lincolnshire in addition to an initial list of 16 published this week, local council leaders claim.
East Lindsey District Council leader Craig Leyland moved to reassure residents, saying “this is not the full list of sites in ELDC”.
“We are assured by the NHS that a further five vaccination sites will go live week commencing January 11 across Lincolnshire, including sites that will serve our coastal communities.”
