Karachi University issues registration schedule for MA, BA, and BCom programmes

KARACHI: The University of Karachi on Wednesday announced the schedule for registration to several programmes, including Master of Arts (MA), double MA, Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), as well as the improvement of division for BA, BCom and BSc programmes.
According to the Controller of Examinations at the University of Karachi Dr Syed Zafar Hussain, the varsity has also announced the submission schedule of examination forms and the fee of BA (Pass) (Regular) Part-I, II and both parts Annual Examinations 2020 and BCom Part-I, II, both parts and improvement of division (External) Annual Examinations 2020.

LNG supply chain in jeopardy as PLL defaults on payments

ISLAMABAD: In a shocking development, the 100 percent state-owned company, Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL), has defaulted with the United Bank Limited (UBL) on LNG payments, putting the LNG supply chain in jeopardy.
This appalling situation, which has emerged because of non-payment of dues of Rs61.2 billion by Sui Northern, has exposed PLL to an imminent default on future LNG supply. This irritating development was identified in Pakistan LNG Limited’s (PLL) letter of February 4, 2021 to Special Secretary of Petroleum Division Nadeem Irshad Kiyani. It mentions that receivables of PLL from Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited have increased to a whopping Rs61.2 billion. And because of non-payment by Sui Northern, its economic miseries have increased to a new high because of which it defaulted with UBL on LNG payments on February 3, 2021.
Broadsheet threatens further enforcement action

LONDON: The Broadsheet LLC has threatened to commence further enforcement action against the assets of Pakistan if an estimated amount of over $2 million towards accrued interest, outstanding judgment debt and legal costs is not paid without any further delay.
This correspondent has obtained extensive communication of the last two weeks between Pakistan’s lawyers at Allen & Overy and Broadsheet’s lawyers at Crowell & Moring.
Broadsheet has asked Pakistan to immediately pay the following amounts: US$1,180,799 in respect of further interest owed by Pakistan on judgment debts, accrued after the issue of Broadsheet’s third party debt order on partial payment by funds received from United National Bank on December 31, 2020; US$40,677 being the balance of the judgment debt remaining unsatisfied; US$5,889 interest accrued on the balance of the judgment debt being and continuing to accrue at the daily rat
