But Mayor Walt Maddox said Tuesday the situation could change in the coming days. New arrivals at DCH Health System hospitals have remained fairly level since the daily inpatient totals soared above 100 in early December, according to the latest data from City Hall. “Although it’s not going down, it’s not going up precipitously,” Maddox said, “and certainly we’ll take that bit of good news.” Outside of Monday’s count of 31, the number of those arriving at DCH Health System hospitals suffering from the coronavirus has averaged about 20 per day for the past week. United Way Announces $500,000 in Grant Opportunities for Westchester and Putnam Nonprofits Written by United Way of Westchester and Putnam The United Way of Westchester and Putnam has announced its latest round of Crisis Funding, which will disperse over $500,000 in grants to local nonprofits through the Emergency Food and Shelter Program.   “The current economic crisis leaves thousands of our neighbors hungry and at risk of being evicted from their homes,” said United Way President and CEO Tom Gabriel. “We are pleased that since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic we have been able to offer $1.8 million in assistance to nonprofit organizations working on the front lines to serve our community and urge them to apply for grants through this latest round of funding.”
