The Project-75I conventional submarines’ (SSKs) procurement is in the news again. The government and the Indian Navy are focussed on getting this project running as soon as possible to counter the increasing naval threat that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy will pose in the coming decade and beyond.
In many ways, the P-75I line of submarines are very different from the P-75 Kalvari (Scorpene) class submarines that are coming out of the Mazagon Docks now.
Duro Kuteyi, the National President, Association of Food and Agro Processors (AFAP), has appealed to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to assist Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to easily access foreign exchange for procurement of machinery.
According to a news report by NAN, he made this appeal while speaking at the Award and End-of-Year ceremony of Spectra Industries Ltd. in Lagos on Thursday.
While speaking at the ceremony, Kuteyi noted that having access to machines will enable SMEs to play an active role in the economy, which will help to deepen economic growth, and go a long way to improve the country’s foreign exchange earnings, job creation, and productivity.

Coscharis Motors Plc, a subsidiary of Coscharis Group, has reintroduced the Renault auto models into the Nigeria market with complimentary after-sales facilities in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Uyo.
The newly introduced brands consist of three Sport Utility Vehicles and one saloon car namely Duster, Koleos, Kwid and Logan, according to a statement emailed to our correspondent by the company’s Corporate Communications Manager, Abiona Babarinde.
