An advanced system for disease surveillance, which will track 33 diseases, upgrading from 18 ailments earlier, and ensure near-real-time data digitally mode was launched by Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Monday.

Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP) which is the next generation highly refined version of the current Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) was virtually launched in presence of Minister of State for Health Ashwini Kumar Choubey. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat attended the event virtually.

On Monday, 47,288 new Covid infections were reported in Maharashtra, taking the total number of cases to 4.51 lakh. To control the runaway pandemic numbers, the State Government has implemented very harsh restrictions including night curfew.
Among all the districts, Pune with 81,378 has the highest number of active cases in the state.
A press statement issued by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme of the State Health Department said that 26,252 patients were discharged on Monday taking the total number of patients after full recovery to 25.49 lakh. The recovery rate in the state is 83.36 per cent.

Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, has virtually launched the Integrated Health Information Platform (IHIP), in the presence of Ashwini Kumar Choubey, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare.
The Integrated Health Information Platform is the next generation highly refined version of the presently used Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP). The event was attended by health ministers of various states.

Maharashtra reported an unprecedented 43,183 fresh Covid infections on Thursday. The total number of active cases increased to 3,66,533, with Pune district at the top of the list with 64,599 cases. In second place is Mumbai with 54,807 cases, Nagpur is in the third position with 48,806 cases.
Thursday also saw 32,641 patients being discharged, taking the total number of discharged patients to 24.33 lakh.
A press statement by the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme of the State Health Department said the recovery rate in the state is 85.2 per cent and the case fatality rate at 1.92 per cent. The state also reported 249 deaths today. Currently, 19.09 lakh people are in home quarantine and 18,432 people are in institutional quarantine.
