Susceptible, Undetected, Tested (positive) and Removed Approach to
make projections about the spread of COVID 19 in the country.
The panel working on the SUTRA model for calculating the trajectory of the disease in India comprises of three scientists namely, Manindra Agrawal, Professor, IIT Kanpur, Madhuri Kanitkar, Deputy Chief, Integrated Defense Staff and M Vidyasagar, Professor, IIT Hyderabad.

With cases declining over the last one week, scientists said the peak has passed but warned that the difficult time for India would continue till mid-June.

The second wave of Covid-19 in the country is likely to taper off by July end, scientists working on mathematical models to predict the coronavirus trajectory in India have said.
India is expected to report about 20,000 daily cases or even less by July, said scientists associated with two mathematical models – SUTRA developed by IIT Kanpur scientists and COV-IND-19 Study group at University of Michigan, which both had rightly predicted India’s Covid-19 cases to peak in mid-May.

Governor of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, to assess their preparedness and that of central ministries and agencies concerned to deal with the situation arising out of Cyclone Yaas , which is forming in the Bay of Bengal.

New Delhi [India], May 24 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday held a meeting over video conferencing with the chief ministers of Odisha, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh along with the Lt. Governor of the AndamanNicobar Islands, to assess their preparedness and that of central ministries and agencies concerned to deal with the situation arising out of Cyclone Yaas , which is forming in the Bay of Bengal.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Shah specifically reviewed and re-iterated to the states and Union Territory administrations to make adequate power backup arrangements in all COVID-19 hospitals, labs, vaccine cold chains and other medical facilities.
