The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr Hafiz Bin Salih, on Wednesday, called on some eminent personalities in the region to seek their blessing and support in his bid to serve the people as he assumes office.
He said his re-nomination as the Regional Minister was as a result of the successes he chalked through the support, cooperation, and prayers of the traditional authorities and religious leaders which, ensured peace and development in the region.
The personalities visited include the Overlord of the Waala Traditional Council, Wa Naa, Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV, the Upper West Regional Chief Imam, and the Yeri Naa

Worker Unions of the C.K Tedem University of Technology and Applied Sciences in the Upper East Region and two other newly created universities have rescinded their decision to embark on an industrial action beginning today, Monday, March 15.
The workers were protesting the government s decision to migrate them onto the Controller and Accountant General Department’s payroll system.
The affected unions described the move as one that contravenes the Labour Act and will lead to reductions in workers salaries and allowance.

Worker unions at the C.K. Tedam University of Technology and Applied Sciences in the Upper East Region and other two newly created universities are threatening to embark on an industrial action if the government does not rescind its decision on migrating them onto the Controller and Accountant General Department payroll system.
The other two universities are the S.D. Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies in Wa and the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, Somanya.
According to the unions of the affected universities, the migration if forcefully implemented will result in the reduction of their salaries and allowances leaving out their counterparts in other universities.

The Attorney General’s (AG) Department must be detached from the Ministry of Justice for reduced interference from the government, majority leader in the sixth parliament, Alban Bagbin said in 2015.
Mr Bagbin believed such a move which he described as a “political position”, will ensure more efficiency in the delivery of justice in the country.
He made these statements at a public lecture on the theme: “Corruption and National Development,” organised by the Faculty of Integrated Development Studies (FIDS) of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Wa campus.
