Integra Biosciences’ VIAFLO electronic pipettes are helping denovoMATRIX in Dresden, Germany, to produce modular, biomimetic coatings for cell culture plasticware that can be tailored to recreate a large variety of conditions for testing adherent cell cultures. Chief Scientific Officer Dr Richard Wetzel explained: “We have developed a range of pre-coated cell culture plasticware - screenMATRIX and myMATRIX - and use the VIAFLO pipettes to prepare and fix the biomimetic coating onto these products.”

Integra Biosciences, international manufacturer of laboratory equipment with technical and manufacturing centres in Switzerland and the US, officially celebrated the expansion of its state-of-the-art facility in Hudson, NH, with a community ribbon cutting ceremony. The newly extended facilities will expand the company’s US presence to meet the growing demand for its laboratory liquid handling products, which have proved vital to labs around the world battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
The company’s production centre on Wentworth Drive in Hudson has gained an additional 16,000 ft2, increasing both manufacturing and storage capacities. With this development, Integra is set to triple its production each year. These workflows often consist of lengthy, multistep protocols. Ahuva Odenheimer, a senior research associate working on behalf of venture capital firm Flagship Pioneering, explained how the VOYAGER increases both throughput and reproducibility at the push of a button: “My lab is exploring new cancer biomarkers using next generation sequencing and PCR, which involves extensive tube to plate transfers and library preparation protocols.
