Northern Plains UAS Test Site (NPUASTS) and the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) announced 8 partners for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s BEYOND program. These companies which are major players in the drone industry, will work in North Dakota to execute the goals of the program. It is also a part of the next phase of the UAS Integration Pilot Program (IPP).
BEYOND has âa particular focus on operations beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) of the operator that are repeatable, scalable, and economically viable,â says an ND DoT press release. âThese efforts will be bolstered by Vantis, North Dakotaâs UAS Network, which is designed to enable real-world BVLOS flights without extreme barriers to entry.â
