Spiers Named Burlsworth Trophy Semifinalist
The Burlsworth Trophy selection committee announced today that Clemson punter Will Spiers has been named as one of 10 semifinalists for the 2020 Burlsworth Trophy, presently annually to the nation’s most outstanding football player who began his career as a walk-on. Spiers is Clemson’s second semifinalist for the award in the last three years, as wide receiver Hunter Renfrow won the award in 2018.
