MANILA, Dec. 11 (Xinhua) AstraZeneca, the Britain-based drug maker, has withdrawn its application to conduct COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials in the Philippines, the country s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on Friday. They (AstraZeneca) said they have enough data already, Enrique Domingo, the FDA director general, said in a text message to Xinhua, explaining the reason AstraZeneca cited for withdrawing trials application.
AstraZeneca last month applied to conduct the coronavirus vaccine clinical trials in the philippines, and it had already passed the ethics board when it decided to withdraw.
AstraZeneca can still supply the country with coronavirus vaccines without holding trials in the Philippines, Domingo said.
