Death of Walther Troeger, IOC Honorary Member 12/31/20 It is with great sadness that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has learnt of the death of Walther Tröger, IOC Honorary Member, at the age of 91. In addition to his invaluable contribution to the Olympic Movement internationally, Mr Tröger’s remarkable career as a sports administrator was marked by his successful commitment to shaping sport in Germany for several decades. Holding a degree in law from the University of Erlangen, he started in 1953 as Secretary General of the German Student Sports Association, before joining the German Sports Confederation (1961-1970) and the National Olympic Committee (NOC), where he served as Secretary General between 1970 and 1992, and as President for 10 years until 2002.

Filip Flisar announces retirement ©GEPA: Filip Flisar at the World Championships in Kreischberg 2015 A true ski cross legend announced his leaving of the Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup stage – the World Champion of 2015, Filip Flisar is retiring after 12 years as a professional athlete. The charismatic Slovenian was for sure one to watch and always fun to have around. The Slovenian has made it into every small final of three Olympic Winter Games: Vancouver 2010 (finished 8th), Sochi 2014 (finished 6th) and PyeongChang 2018 (finished 7th) and proved that he indeed is Mister Ski Cross. Besides winning the ski cross crystal globe in the 2011/12 season, his biggest achievement was the World Championship title in Kreischberg in 2015.
