Paradise Garden Foundation presents the fourth Outsider Art Trail Tour on Saturday, June 5, offering a great road-trip option for anyone ready to get out and explore after being cooped up during the pandemic.
Take a drive deep into the heart of southern small-town charm and quirk, wander down some rural byways, and celebrate the beginning of summer amid the leafy beauty of Northwest Georgia. Start your day early at a “picker’s paradise” as you dig for treasures at Trade Day, a giant outdoor flea market just outside downtown Summerville that has been a Chattooga County tradition since 1976.

Lauren McWhorter, an LPN at Oakwood Care Center in Clear Lake, was certified as an infection control specialist in March 2019.
At the time she had no idea just how valuable that training would be.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit a year later, McWhorter became responsible for keeping the virus under control at the nursing home.
She was in charge of COVID testing and reporting for Oakwood. McWhorter also helped implement the strategy on setting up an isolation area at the nursing home for those who were infected to keep them separated from the other residents.

The challenge
Daughters of the Evolution is a new, California-based nonprofit organization, founded by a board of young women. To accompany its launch, the board wanted campaign to champion the voices and ambitions of the next generation of women leaders, helping them build a world in which to thrive. Faced with the unrelenting persistence of gender inequality in society, Daughters of the Evolution approached Goodby Silverstein & Partners to finding a solution that would get to the root of gender inequality - before it manifests in career glass ceilings, pay gaps and all its other consequences.
