Red Bull junior Dennis Hauger clinched a controlled lights-to-flag win in the third Formula 3 race of the weekend in Barcelona, making amends for a difficult Saturday.
Hauger collided with Matteo Nannini in a battle for the lead in Race 2 yesterday, but the Red Bull Academy driver had a chance to claw points back as he started from P1 in today s mid-day contest – having taken pole by 0.006s in qualifying.
The Norwegian s getaway was sluggish when the lights went out, but he batted off a four-wide challenge through Turn 1 to retain the lead and by the halfway point had amassed a three-second lead.

Dennis Hauger converted pole position into a comfortable Formula 3 feature race victory at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Hauger claimed pole on Friday by just 0.006s ahead of Trident’s Jack Doohan and ran out an easy winner in Sunday’s feature race.
The Norweigan made a sluggish start from pole as the leading group went four-wide into Turn 1 on the opening lap.
Matteo Nannini made the best start from fourth on the grid but wisely backed out into Turn 1 to avoid another incident at the opening sequence of corners.
Hauger was the last of the late breakers into Turn 1 on the opening lap, maintaining the lead and controlling the race from that moment onwards.

Aleksandr Smolyar claimed his first Formula 3 victory as he dominated the first sprint race at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Starting on the front row of the grid, Smolyar made light work of Jonny Edgar into Turn 1 with the use of DRS on Lap 4.
Smolyar built a commanding lead at the front, stretching his advantage to over two second as Edgar attempted to defend from the cars behind.
Clement Novalak made an impressive start from sixth on the grid, moving up to fourth with a late lunge into Turn 1 on the opening lap.
Novalak looked to have the superior race pace as he passed Edgar around the outside at Turn 1 on Lap 14, then began his hunt for the lead of the race
