ISLAMABAD/KARACHI: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz said on Monday that Sindh government had arrested Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh on political grounds to victimise him for exposing corruption and its inefficiency.
Speaking at a press conference in the federal capital, he demanded his immediate release and said that the “inefficient and corrupt” Sindh government had politicised the police by inducting its own people.
He said that arrest of Haleem Adil was also an effort to influence the upcoming Senate elections.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz said that Prime Minister Imran Khan accepted the challenge of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for re-polling at 20 polling stations of NA-75 constituency in Sialkot.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he said the premier has always faced the challenges boldly and in this particular case. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is ready for the re-polling.
He said the ruling PTI would accept decision taken by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) regarding re-polling in Daska’s NA-75 constituency amid opposition’s rigging allegations.

On Sunday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) directed the returning officer of Daska to conduct a complete inquiry over the issue of NA-75 by-poll results.

National media, quoting sources, reported that the returning officer has suggested a full inquiry in the preliminary report. The Election Commission accepted the suggestion of the returning officer directing him to conduct a complete inquiry. The Election Commission will take a final decision after a detailed report of the returning officer and will review the report in a meet
