President Joe Biden’s omission of the word God from his National Day of Prayer proclamation this month has evoked a firestorm of protest. Christian Broadcasting Network commentator David Brody, evangelist Franklin Graham, Catholic League president Bill Donohue, Fox News, and other politically conservative media outlets all criticized Biden’s failure to mention God.

In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer, and in 1988, lawmakers designated its date as the first Thursday in May. All the previous 70 presidential proclamations of a National Day of Prayer referred to God, often multiple times. Donald Trump’s 2020 proclamation, for example, mentioned God 11 times.

Christian conservatives are distressed over the disturbing omission from Joe Biden’s National Day of Prayer address. The “devout Catholic” never actually mentioned the central three letter word at the center of any legitimate National Day of Prayer. That’s right, Joe Biden never mentioned “God,” not even once.
It’s sad to say, the presidential geezer showed more piety when he referred to God as “you know, the thing.”
Conservative outlet
pointed out the glaring omission of the word “God” from Biden’s strangely secular proclamation and confirmed that Biden, like the rest of the Democrats embracing the spirit of the age, focused rather on making references to “racial justice” and vague appeals to “faith” and “prayer.” Oh, that’s lovely. Take God out of schools and now out of prayer. Well, of course! We have to replace Him with the left’s new social justice religion. This is all so swell.

Thirty years after opening an office in Moscow, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) appears to be on its way out. The group has become a victim of both punishing legislation designed to constrain and demonise foreign media and journalists, as well as related fines that now stand at 2.3 million US dollars.
