They will be unlocked for 30 minutes to provide access to meetings. Anyone seeking to attend a public meeting in the city-county Government Center will have a narrow access window in 2021. For most public meetings after 5 p.m, the rotunda doors, marked Door C, will be the only access to the building and will open 15 minutes before a scheduled meeting and be locked 15 minutes after the meeting’s scheduled start time.

Olmsted County announced Wednesday the Government Center Rotunda doors will only be unlocked for meetings after 5 p.m. when public meetings are scheduled or expected to occur after business hours. The change begins Monday. The county says the Rotunda doors will be open 15 minutes prior to a scheduled meeting and locked 15 minutes after the meeting’s scheduled start time (for example, if a meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m., the doors will open at 5:45 p.m. and lock at 6:15 p.m.).
