Tighter Security at Olmsted County Government Center
Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Security will get tighter at Rochester’s central government campus next week.
Olmsted County announced Wednesday the Government Center Rotunda doors will only be unlocked for meetings after 5 p.m. when public meetings are scheduled or expected to occur after business hours.
The change begins Monday.
The county says the Rotunda doors will be open 15 minutes prior to a scheduled meeting and locked 15 minutes after the meeting’s scheduled start time (for example, if a meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m., the doors will open at 5:45 p.m. and lock at 6:15 p.m.).

Olmsted County commissioners agreed Tuesday that so-called conversion therapy is a discredited practice that is unethical and harmful.
A resolution passed by the board without comment also cited support of a statewide ban on the controversial practice that attempts to “convert” a gay person to a straight person.
