5 Area Law Enforcement Agencies Helped Nab Suspect Near Mazeppa Get our free mobile app Mazeppa, MN (KROC-AM News) - A law enforcement pursuit of an assault suspect ended last night in the Mazeppa area with a search effort that included five law enforcement agencies. The Wabasha County Sheriff s Department says the chase began around 11:30 p.m. after it received a report of a suspicious vehicle parked at the end of the driveway near Mazeppa. The caller also reported hearing numerous gunshots and officials say the vehicle matched the description of one driven by a man wanted in Red Wing for an attempted shooting and the assault of a family member.

Safe City Nights returns to Rochester

The department said it s a series of events aimed to engage the community and law enforcement. Chief Jim Franklin championed the event beginning in 2019. The pandemic canceled it last year RPD s Safe City Nights return | The events included demonstrations by the K-9 team, hands-on experiences with the emergency response unit, and a tour of the crime scene vehicle. The Olmsted County Sheriff s Office, Rochester Fire Department, and Minnesota State Patrol are also taking part. Three events will continue in different quadrants of the city until late August from  6 p.m. to 8 p.m.:
