The Olmsted County Sheriff s Office said a 36-year-old homeowner was home with her kids when a 3-year-old child came downstairs and smelled like smoke. The mom went upstairs and found a fire in the bedroom. Authorities believed the fire started when a candle got knocked over. It happened at 1623 County Rd 10 NE in Quincy Township. The Dover-Eyota Fire Department responded and put out the fire.

Mother and children escape house fire in Quincy Township

Created: May 03, 2021 09:07 AM (ABC 6 News) A mother was able to get her kids to safety following a house fire in Quincy Township. It happened shortly after noon on May 1 at 1623 County Road 10 NE. According to the Olmsted County Sheriff s Office, the 36-year-old woman said one of her children came downstairs from an upstairs bedroom and smelled like smoke. The woman went upstairs and found flames in the bedroom. She was able to get the children out of the house, safe. Dover and Eyota Fire Departments were able to put out the fire. The sheriff s office said a candle may have caused the fire.
