On Saturday, June 4, between 1 and 3 p.m. dozens of people wearing orange attended a vigil at Heritage Park in Massey to honour and memorialize the 215 Indigenous children found in unmarked graves at a residential school in Kamloops B.C. last week. Dozens of teddy bears and flowers were placed under the gazebo in remembrance of the children.
Against a backdrop of a clear blue sky with the Canadian flag, the provincial flag, and Sables Spanish River Township flag lowered to half-mast, both Indigenous people and many others gathered to honour the children.
