Dispose of unused prescription drugs at these Monroe dropbox locations

View Comments Residents with unused prescription drugs can dispose of them safely year-round at several permanent drop-off locations within the Twin Cities.  These boxes have been set up by partnerships with different programs, such as Blue Cross-Blue Shield, the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators, federal grants and law enforcement agencies.  Attorney General Jeff Landry initiated one of the programs to fight back against the opioid crisis in 2017.  We started getting involved when we started working on different aspects trying to take a holistic approach to combatting the opioid epidemic, Monica Taylor, outreach representative for the Louisiana Attorney General s Office, said. Their goal was to put one box in every parish and so we ve partnered with them and helped them place these boxes every since then.
